Experience
Hatem Algraffee qualified as a dentist from the Royal London Hospital (General Dental Council registration 72250). He then worked in an oral and maxillo-facial surgery department, followed by positions for various health authorities and general practice.
He completed four years full-time specialist training in Periodontology at Guys London Hospital. He was awarded a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Periodontology and Masters in Clinical Dentistry (M.Clin.Dent) from Guys Hospital. Formal specialist supervised training was completed in 2004 and Dr Algraffee was admitted to General Dental Council Specialist list in the field of Periodontics.
Previous positions were as an undergraduate specialist teacher for Kings College London (Guys Hospital).
Hatem now dedicates his time to Periodontics in private practice, as a lecturer for PerioAcademy. He teaches, coaches and mentors postgraduate dentists in the field of Periodontics (Gum assessment and treatment) both throughout the UK and abroad.
Research/Clinical Emphasis
Dr Algraffee completed his thesis in the field of gum disease related to systemic disease. He continues to promote holistic approach of assessing health risk factors directly related and associated with gum disease.
His other passion is clinical regeneration of lost gum/tooth bone (infrabony defects) and lost gum tissue (recession)
