Early signs of gum problems around dental implants can be bleeding and taste/visibility of pus.
Correction of uneven gum line (crown lengthening)
If your gums rest too low or too high on your teeth a gum contouring procedure can usually be performed. Gum reshaping or tissue sculpting can be used to correct uneven gum lines.
Cosmetic gum graft to correct gum shrinkage
Gum shrinkage is a common condition. This can cause sensitivity, and appearance of longer teeth. Some case a notch can be felt near the gum line. Gum shrinkage should not be ignored and the cause of gum shrinkage needs to be determined. Cause of gum shrinkage includes aggressive tooth brushing, gum disease, insufficient oral hygiene, smoking, misaligned teeth or tooth movement. A gum graft procedure can usually be performed to reduce and correct the gum shrinkage.
